One of the North Shore’s best Christmas Fairs in also aiming to be sustainable in 2023

In the heart of Wahroonga, the Wahroonga Village Fair is on the first Sunday of December. A community market featuring art, clothes, Christmas goodies, face painting, all sorts of food, coffee and many other beautiful stalls offer their goods – it’s one to mark in the diary. Entertainment includes singers, dancers and musicians from all over Sydney, including the Knox pipe band which plays at the start of the fair each year.

The Wahroonga Village Fair began 31 years ago and was run by the then Chamber of Commerce. Last year was the first year the Rotary Club of Wahroonga took over the running of the Fair. This year, the organisers want the Fair to grow and help the broader community come together whilst helping support those who are in need. They help support local specials schools like St. Lucy’s and St. Edmunds by providing bursaries for children.

They also support Women’s Shelter in Hornsby Ku-ring-gai, PCYC Youth projects, KYDS Youth Development Service, Rotary Projects like ABBOX, National Youth Science Forum, International projects, Community and environment and much more. This year the organisers are also encouraging people to bring their own reusable bags and keep cups to reduce waste at the Fair. In conjunction with Ku-ring-gai Council there will be a mobile phone recycling box for people to donate their old mobile phones.
