Preserving Workshop

Discover traditional preserving techniques of our grandparents!

During this workshop you will learn how to manage an abundance of seasonable fruit and vegetables, as well as leftovers by preserving them.

If you learn these skills, you will be confident to know exactly what ingredients went into each jar of preserves you prepared, while saving money and avoiding artificial additives in the process.

Find out more about various preserving techniques and help to make a seasonal preserve using common kitchen equipment and utensils. You will end up with a jarful to take home!

The Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden is one of Sydney’s best kept secrets, set across 123 hectares of unique urban bushland and home to two endangered ecological communities as well as 18 threatened species of flora and fauna. The Wildflower Garden is open to the public all year round and has a range of hikes, step-free walking tracks, picnic areas and heritage venue hire as well as a diverse calendar of environmental education programs.
