Sunday 5 December 2021, Garigal National Park Sydney

The Bare Creek Trail Run is an exciting annual event for all ages and abilities. It winds its way through the picturesque fire trails of the Garigal National Park in St Ives.

Created by Bare Events, the philosophy behind Bare Creek Trail Run is that running changes lives. As Director Lisa Murphy points out, “There’s no other event in Sydney where you can get out into the beautiful bush, be active (whatever your age or ability), and be home by lunchtime.”

The event features four different challenges:

  • 2km dash – ideal for our younger community members enabling them to experience the thrill of participating in an event and an introduction to our gorgeous bushland.
  • 6km family walk/run – a great introduction to trail running.
  • 12km run – the event for the more serious runner.
  • 20km – a challenging course for hill seekers and those looking to push themselves that bit further.

The objectives of the event are to bring the community together with a family-orientated fun day as well as a serious runner’s challenge. The run includes online entry and payment, timing chips and fabulous prizes. The State Emergency Service is supporting the Bare Creek Trail Run, ensuring that the safety aspects are well covered and in turn the run supports the SES by way of donation.

And you’ll also be supporting a great cause. This year’s charity partner of the Bare Creek Trail Run is the Run Beyond Project – an experiential program that supports young people as they work towards the accomplishment of a challenging but achievable Goal Event.
