An outdoor event with free entertainment will take place in Turramurra on April 8.
Enliven Ku-ring-gai is an event program aimed at bringing evening entertainment, music and food to some of Ku-ring-gai’s suburbs. The program is being supported by a grant from the NSW Government’s Festival of Place Summer Night Fund.
This fund aims to provide free, COVID-Safe activations or events in public spaces in local centres as part of the NSW Government’s efforts to re-energise our local centres in the evening and at night as we emerge from lockdown.
The program supports the Premier’s Priority to increase the proportion of homes in urban areas across NSW within 10 minutes’ walk of quality green, open and public space.
Turramurra on Friday 8 April
Between 6pm and 8pm on Friday 8 April, the community is invited to gather on the lawn at 1 Gilroy Street Turramurra where the Kristen Fletcher Trio will perform.
The trio are known for their unique remakes of current pop hits and soulful classics. The lawn will be transformed into an outdoor dining area with plenty of tables and chairs available and local restaurants will be on hand to provide takeaways for the event.
Ku-ring-gai Council‘s Mayor Jeff Pettett said the aim of the Festival of Place event was to give the community some free entertainment and support local businesses.
“It’s been an incredibly tough two years capped off by the recent floods, but this is a chance to put it behind us and have some fun together before the colder weather hits.”
